only five times Australia lost four wickets under 50 runs.....every single time they went on to win the match. Today was the fifth occasion. What a team.... 19

Teams:

West Indies (Playing XI): Chris Gayle, Evin Lewis, Shai Hope(w), Nicholas Pooran, Shimron Hetmyer, Andre Russell, Jason Holder(c), Carlos Brathwaite, Ashley Nurse, Sheldon Cottrell, Oshane Thomas

Australia (Playing XI): Aaron Finch(c), David Warner, Usman Khawaja, Steven Smith, Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, Alex Carey(w), Nathan Coulter-Nile, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Adam Zampa

Aaron Finch: I wanted to bat first on this wicket. Teams have totally changed so history doesn't matter much. We are playing with the same side.

Jason Holder:We will field first. It is a good wicket and we are hoping for some early wickets. We want to be disciplined in both the departments. We want to continue to play some good cricket. I think it is going to be a good surface. We just have to be aggressive. We have made one change in our team, Evin Lewis comes in and Darren Bravo misses out.

West Indies opt to bowl

West Indies have opted to bowl. And that is a bit surprising. Remember, it is a World Cup game. The pressure of playing a big game is different. It is a ploy England too tried in very good conditions for batting and the plan came unstuck...

Pitch conditions:It is a used-up track but the deck still comes across as a good one for batting. And with short boundaries coming into play, good luck to bowlers.

Prelude:

Australia and West Indies have a long history in World Cups. The two teams played out a classic final way back in 1975 when the Caribbean side won a cliffhanger by 17 runs with Murray running out Thomson at 8.40 PM local time at the iconic Lord's.

More than four decades have gone by since then as the two sides once again lock horns in the 2019 World Cup and on a track that is expected to be a featherbed at Trent Bridge.

Will the Holder-led side unleash the short ball tactics against a set of batsmen who are known to be good on the pull and cut? What about Gayle, Russell, Hope and Co. going head-to-head against the pace duo of Pat Cummins and Starc? Mouth-watering prospect indeed. Remember, Australia are coming on the back of a 11-match winning streak.

We will have all the action in a short while...
